what happened?

When I read in John 8:59, Jesus is talking to the Pharisees, and they end up wanting to stone Him. Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple. The thing is that his disciples went with Him. The crowd that they passed through did not notice them. Also, as they passed by the disciples asked Jesus about a blind man, and Jesus stopped to heal the man. The man had to go and wash and come back to tell of his healing, so Jesus and the disciples were there for some time. The thing is, the pharisees were wanting to stone him, so why did they not see him? This makes me wonder how this scene really looked.
